Zcarfies are great for spring, fall, winter, and even summer. Zcarfies are used to keep warm and to have fun, especially at sporting events. Most people are familiar with beanies and scarves and know how to take care of them. Zcarfies may get dirty or lose their original shape after wearing them at vigorous events. How do you wash and care for your precious Zcarfie?

We will share some practical ways to wash and care for them to keep them neat, clean, and in great shape.

Zcarfies can be made from different fabrics that require different washing and care procedures.

General Zcarfie washing process

General process for washing a Zcarfie.

Step 1: Check the inside care label: Before washing, please check the inside care label first to learn more about the manufacturing fabric and washing methods.

Step 2: Prepare appropriate detergent: Subject to the fabric, choose the right detergent. Choosing neutral detergents and avoiding strong stain removers or bleach detergents is a good idea.

Step 3: Place the Zcarfie in lukewarm water, add the appropriate detergent, agitate slowly and scrub gently. Please be careful not to scrub too hard to avoid deformation or pulling of the product.

Step 4: Rinse clean: Rinse the Zcarfie with clean water and remove any detergent from the product.

Step 5: Remove water: Gently squeeze the beanie to remove excess water, but please do not squeeze the Zcarfie to dry to avoid deformation.

Step 6: Flatten to dry: Flatten Zcarfie to return them to their original shape and then place them in a well-ventilated place and avoid direct sun exposure.

Step 7: Ironing: If necessary, after drying, you can use a stream iron to lightly iron Zcarfie to make them flat. Use a “cover” sheet over the Zcarfie so not to burn or melt the fibres.

How to Wash Zcarfie Correctly?

The best way to wash your Zcarfie is by hand. First, soak the Zcarfie in lukewarm (never hot) water for a while to remove most of the dirt. Then wash it with a mild detergent or laundry soap, and don’t use hot water, it’s better to wash with cold water. Soak the Zcarfie for a while until the foam rises to the surface, then rinse the Zcarfie with clean water. If there is still dirt, scrub the Zcarfie lightly. After rinsing, don’t wring the Zcarfie to dry, place on a towel to absorb the water and lay it out to dry – ideally not in direct sunlight.

Can a Zcarfie Be Machine Washed?

The answer is yes; however, this is not recommended. Before putting clothing and Zcarfie in the washing machine, fill the machine with Cold water first. Don’t use hot water because it can cause fading or shrinkage. To wash the Zcarfie choose the gentle mode or hand wash mode, if these are not options, please choose the rotary mode.

How to Maintain your Zcarfie

Please do not hang or clip beanies and do not place heavy objects on top of beanies. It’s easy for Zcarfie to become deformed or damaged, and maybe the sewing thread to fall off due to mishandling or improper use. Please store Zcarfie in a cool place away from sunlight, as sunlight can weaken the threads or cause the colours to fade. In addition, a humid environment can also harm the Zcarfie. In addition, you can also fill some fibre rods into beanie hats to keep their original shapes and also can put desiccants to prevent mildew. Please note that a Zcarfie (and all beanies) can quite easily generate bacteria, therefore, after wearing a beanie for a time, please wash it regularly.

Maintenance Steps

Step 1: Clean in advance: Use a very soft brush or wet towel to brush or wipe the beanie to remove dust and dirt from the surface of the Zcarfie.

Step 2: Avoid pulling: When putting on or taking off a Zcarfie, please do both gently to avoid over-pulling the Zcarfie, which can cause the Zcarfie to deform (potentially stretch out of shape).

Step 3: Avoid mildew or moisture: Usually, any beanie can easily get mildew in humid environments. Therefore, please store them in dry and well-ventilated places. Also, you can put some desiccant or camphor balls to prevent them from mildew.

Step 4: Avoid sun exposure: If the Zcarfie is exposed to sunlight for a long time, it may cause the colour to fade and the fibres to age. It’s important to avoid sun exposure and store your hats in the shade or a cool place.

Step 5: Immune to moths: All beanie hats can be affected by moths, so it’s a good idea to store beanie hats with insect repellent.

How to Prevent your Zcarfie from changing shape

In general, the gap between the threads of a Zcarfie is large and loose. Therefore, if a Zcarfie is worn frequently, stretched or vigorously played with, it can fairly easily change shape. If you want to prevent the Zcarfie from expanding, please pay attention to the following aspects.

1. Pay attention to washing methods

Improper washing methods are important factor that can create expansion of a Zcarfie, such as machine washing with high dumping, acidic detergents that damage fabrics, or wringing strongly, etc. That’s why it’s important to place a Zcarfie in a laundry bag or pillowcase when washing them in the machine and to use a gentle wash cycle. When hand washing, please scrub and wring gently.

2. Drying methods

It’s better to flatten the Zcarfie when drying them to help them retain their shape.

3. Wearing time

It’s also a good idea to have several Zcarfies rather than one because after wearing a Zcarfie for a long time and using it vigorously at team events, it may lose its stretch and potentially deform, especially for Zcarfies made of knitted fabrics.
